The Oil Spill – Still Not As Bad as Roane County Tennessee in 2008

Gulf Oil Spill

Gulf Oil Spill

Naples, FL

Naples, FL beautiful pristine beaches and amazing marine life

The Oil Spill is making me very sad.  A previous post I did talks about the biggest toxic spill disaster in American history. December 2008 Roane County Tennessee but hardly anyone made mention of it. The post references the Rollingstone article about the toxic coal sludge.  Check it out. https://cannabischronicles.wordpress.com/2010/04/11/coal-sludge-causes-autism/ The sick part is that it’s the same company that cause the spill as head the mining disaster that killed 26 people- Don Blankenship, Massey Energy.

The fact that it’s spring and all the wildlife will be having offspring is killing me because I can’t do anything about it.  The Gulf already suffered huge losses this year because of the cold weather.  Fishing has been restricted in many areas of Florida because the so many fish a marine life died over the winter.  This would be horrible if this get’s so bad that the Gulf is polluted for years and years and the beautiful pristine beaches that surround the Gulf will be destroyed.

The Glass Shard

Megan Fox Thumb

Megan Fox - Notorious Thumb

Shard of Glass

Shard of Glass

Well my Internet has been out for a week and right now i’m not sure how long until it expires.  i had a big glass shard that has been buried in the side of my finger (thumb) finally come out today.  i knew it was in there because the wound wouldn’t seal up after 4 days. when i banged it onto something i could feel the shard jab deep into my flesh. finally today after cleaning the house and it feeling painful, i was sitting on the step and looked into the cut and saw something shiny, sure enough it was the tip of the glass shard sticking out of the wound. i squeezed the wound and the glass shard squeezed right out of the wound only to stand at attention glistening in the sun. i was so proud that my body expelled this enormous piece of glass on it’s own with no intervention from modern medicine.  and i knew it all along. i had complete faith that my body would get rid of it on its own no matter how painful the waiting would be. don’t get me wrong i was tempted a couple of times to go and have them open it up and pull the shard out. i would become somewhat panicky when thoughts of it moving into my bloodstream and surfing towards my heart crossed my mind. then i would remind myself of how big this piece of shard must be. surely too large to travel through a blood vessel .. or, well?  i would let those thoughts pass.

yeah i know you’re wondering why i didn’t take a picture of the glass shard that lived inside my body for four days.  it was weird. i thought about running inside and grabbing my phone to take a picture. but then i just kept staring at it standing up tall half way out of my thumb. there was a sense of nature acknowledging it’s power. keep it strong, keep it silent, the truth needs no promotion.

Like shooting a pea, I flung the glass shard off into the garden.

Mushrooms – the Next Best Building Material

Mushrooms Need More Attention

giant mushroom

giant mushroom

Supposedly mycelium, the fibrous material of mushroom roots can produce bricks as strong as concrete and as insulating as fiberglass.
Seems like a no brainer why aren’t we building with this?

Is this the largest organism in the world? This 2,400-acre (9.7 km2) site in eastern Oregon had a contiguous growth of mycelium before logging roads cut through it. Estimated at 1,665 football fields in size and 2,200 years old, this one fungus has killed the forest above it several times over, and in so doing has built deeper soil layers that allow the growth of ever-larger stands of trees. Mushroom-forming forest fungi are unique in that their mycelial mats can achieve such massive proportions.

Toxic Coal Sludge Is Poisoning Us and Causing Autism

Coal Sludg

Coal Sludge Spill 100x Greater than Exxon Valdez Spill

How can it possibly be that the EPA has not categorized Coal Sludge as hazardous!  It’s considered “non-hazardous” and is being pumped into our environment at staggering numbers.  It’s being put into everything from wallboard, top soil – the list goes on and is very scary.  There are over 500 toxic coal sludge dumping grounds that have no requirement for proper containment.  Coal Sludge has a total of 24 very toxic chemicals that leach into our environment.  Rollingstone has a great article, Coal’s Toxic Sludge , by Jeff Goodell

Jeff Goodell

Jeff Goodell - He deserves recognition but we need action now!

which not only gives you details about a toxic spill that was 100 times bigger than the one the Exxon Valdez caused, right in Tennessee, but you’ll read about lakes that have enough poison in them to kill everything on the planet.

Coal Sludge Spill

Toxic Coal Sludge Dumps - more than 500 in the USA

We wonder why the life in the oceans is dying and dolphins and whales are experiencing extremely high levels of mercury.  We wonder why autism is so prevalent.  It’s the deadly toxic metals that are being pumped into our environment and the EPA says the sludge in non-hazardous.  We are giving the Coal companies licenses to kill us.  Anything living near water is experiencing mutations and deformities at alarming rates. Urban Farming

urban farming

urban farming

The best de-stress drug in the universe is submerging yourself in it’s (the earth’s) presence.  Go out to the garden and sit.  Feel the life force surge through your body.  It’s invigorating in a youthful energizing way, it cleans the soul, a clean soul is like a new slate, a chance to start over again and be forgiven.  Nature is God.  It Cleanses The Soul.  You must spend time outdoors in natural light communicating with nature.  we need to teach healthy eating but go to the urban neighborhoods and encourage local gardens and fresh produce.  give them a money making opportunity that is makes their children healthy.  It makes them physically and most importantly mentally happy.  Physical needs, money can cure, mental needs nature can cure.  i want to get money from bill gates to start apartment top gardens, neighborhood farms using the latest technology to achieve high crop yields with minimum carbon footprint impact – positive health care system cost because of a healthy population.

Why have we not focused on the source of the problem.  We focus on the by’product high healthcare costs and treatment.   We focus no money on creating crop growing, healthy nutritious neighborhoods that make money and have an enterprise model, let’s get education classes that teach people how to do urban farming and make it profitable.  The marijuana industry is the perfect example of this.  why not grow food and medicines (marijuana et al) , hyperlocally and have people make a sustainable living and become super creative to get the business.  you have to teach people how to fish.  at the end of a community project did we give them the tools to fish and be independent  Self-Sustaining Communities, we can now control the environment and genes of things to grow so we can make anything happen anywhere.  the key is that success is determined on the independence of the act.  it it;s tied to a company or money far away it should be shunned. programs have to be self sustaining. the key to success of a program is can it survive if the outside support impoloded.
